Former AFC Champions League, J1 League and Emperor’s Cup winners Gamaba Osaka will once again wear kits from longtime technical partner Umbro Japan for their 2017 season.
After last season’s home uniform was inspired by the club’s new home stadium, the new Gamba Osaka 2017 kit is designed to shine from Osaka to the world. The strip is based on the traditional stripes design, while Umbro added a “crystal graphic” design that incorporates crystal patterns in stripes to let the jersey “shine from Osaka to the world”.
Among the most successful and well-supported of Japanese football clubs, Gamba Osaka will don their traditional black and blue stripes on their 2017 Umbro home jersey. The blue stripes on the shirt have a crystal graphic within them inspired by the concept of “Kagayaki” (From Osaka to shine throughout the world). Gamba says that the design will see it players release the radiance when on the pitch. Black and aqua green pinstripes on the kit expresses the strong will of the team’s players.
The Gamba Osaka 2017 Umbro away jersey is mainly white with a series of tonal bands on its front and back. The bands contain the a white version of the crystalline graphic on the stripes of the home kit. Blue side panels and flashes on the shoulder area detail the alternate shirt.
The Gamba Osaka 2017 home and away kits use the same bespoke design from Umbro Japan. Given the magnitude of the club it is unlikely that the template will be shared with any other teams in or out of Japan.
