Former AFC Champions League winners Shimizu S-Pulse are back in the Japanese J1 League after a one-year stint in J2 last season.
The popular club that has featured Japanese internationals such as Shinji Okazaki (now at Leicester City), Alex and Shinji Ono, recently unveiled their 2017 home kit from technical partner PUMA.
In Shimizu S-Pulse’s customary orange and yellow, the club’s 2017 home kit is inspired by their 1999-2001 primary shirt. Still adored by the team’s fans, it was worn when S-Pulse won the 2000 ACL and 2001 Emperor’s Cup.
The kit features camouflage map of the world with Shimizu, Asia, Oceania, Antartica and the Pacific Ocean labeled. Shimizu is purposely located next to the S-Pulse badge along with a of the team’s official mascot Palchan.
Shimizu S-Pulse’s 2017 home kit uses a new PUMA design featuring a ribbed v-neck collar along with a modern, dotted interpretation of the firm’s T7 shoulder striping. The stripes break to create a chevron shape containing PUMA’s Cat logo.
